I spent the majority of my childhood eating processed food and sugar filled treats and felt the consequences – I suffered from chronic fatigue and digestive issues but never connected the fact that my diet was at the root cause of my symptoms. It wasn’t until college when I went on a grocery crawl with a personal trainer that I started to realize how much food truly does make a difference with our health.
I incorporated the grocery crawl tips my trainer gave me, eliminated processed and fast food from my diet, and increased the amount of veggies, proteins, and healthy fats in my meals. Within weeks I had regained my energy levels and cleared up my digestive issues, and within a few months I had dropped 15 pounds. I felt like an entirely new person!
My journey with health and wellness only intensified over the years and after incorporating a paleo lifestyle and saying goodbye to refined sugar for good, I felt and looked the best I ever had in my life. I became passionate about helping others feel as good as I felt and went back to school in 2018 to become a Certified Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner through the Nutritional Therapy Association.
As an FNTP, I now work with people to help them overcome the diet culture and create a real food lifestyle that is realistic and sustainable for them and their family.
